Bought the dress, a size larger than I usually wear so that I can take it in (also cause they sold out of my size). Cost:$80
Bought the veil Cost: $20
Fabulous necklace was bought out from under me while I took too long making decisions. :( Can't find anything else on Etsy that I like right now, so I'm going to wait a bit and see what new stuff comes out early next year.
Total cost of wedding to date: $200 (including venue, dress, veil, candle holders)
I'd say that rocks! Nice and affordable!
ReplyDeleteYep! We're trying to keep it under $1000 including everything, and I think we will totally make it within that budget (and they have lots of money leftover to spend on things like a honeymoon!)
ReplyDeleteI love it when a plan comes together! Please try the dress and hat/veil on when it arrives and post a picture!
ReplyDeleteHi Eden!
ReplyDeleteI'm a long time lurker and really enjoy your blog... Have a question for you that I'm hoping you will answer - why are you and B getting married?
If it's not for religious reasons, is it legal/cultural? Is it because you want to make a public (or even private) commitment to one another? If the latter, why did you decide to opt for marriage and not a commitment ceremony or some such?
Not sure what the story is in the US, but here in Australia long-term hetero couples have the same legal rights as married couples, so there's not much of a reason to get married unless it's for religious/cultural/materialistic reasons.
Just curious to hear your perspective... (And apologies in advance if this comment comes across as an interrogation!)
Happy wedding planning!
Check out the post I wrote about it here
ReplyDeleteThanks Eden! Don't know why I couldn't find it... :-)
