Buying wedding rings!

We are about to order our rings. Having done a whole lot of research, we have decided they are going to be relatively plain rings, 5mm wide, comfort fit and made out of palladium.

Here is what they will look like:

They will be engraved on the inside. His will say "If the sun refused to shine" and mine will say "If mountains crumble to the sea"

From Led Zeppelin's song Thank You:

If the sun refused to shine
I would still be loving you
If mountains crumble to the sea
there will still be you and me

Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more

Little drops of rain whisper of the pain
tears of loves lost in the days gone by
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong,
together we shall go until we die. My, my, my

An inspiration is what you are to me, inspiration, look, see

And so today, my world it smiles
your hand in mine, we walk the miles
Thanks to you it will be done
for you to me are the only one

Happiness, no more be sad, happiness, I'm glad

If the sun refused to shine
I would still be loving you
If mountains crumble to the sea
there will still be you and me

  1. How beautiful! (What's palladium?) I just found out today that my mother's wedding ring had been engraved 'Always Forever' inside of it.
I wish you and B Always Forever!

  2. palladium is in the platinum metal family, but is around half as dense as platinum (and also half as expensive). It looks kinda like white gold, and costs around the same as white gold does, but it is less yellow (more white) then white gold and also a little darker. It also doesn't need to be re-plated like white gold to keep it's "whiteness", and it is really hard so it doesn't scratch easily. :)

  3. AE, question for you and B - if you guys are so unconventional and march to the beat of your own drummer why are you bothering with rings? You are bowing to convention to get married, which has its basis in silly religious rights. SO why get rings which are the ultimate symbol of convention??

  4. well I wrote a post at some point about why get married at all, which you can look up.

As for the rings...it may still be 'conventional' but it's also a pretty powerful symbol of being married.plus then when people hit on me in the streets I can flash them the ring. :)
